Listed Buildings

Buildings of particular antiquity, design merit or other significance are frequently "listed" in order to protect them from the ravages of time or over-enthusiastic developers. Since April 2005 this listing process is managed by English Heritage, and more information can be found on their web site.

Dealing with alterations to listed buildings is, necessarily, a more complex and convoluted process than other, normal, planning applications.
